This listing is for ONE BUTTER KNIFE, measuring about 6-1/4" long. When used in a 6-piece table setting, this is the butter spreader (in addition to the standard dinner knife). Or, it can also function as a master butter knife. It is a little shorter than the dinner knife. I have a lot of different flatware that I use daily. This particular piece is my personal favorite. Unlike other butter knives, this is the perfect size and weight to balance on the edge of my butter dish. And, like all Design 2 pieces, it is perfectly balanced and a pleasure to hold in the hand. The last time I was in New York City, I saw this flatware pattern on display at the Museum of Modern Art. This iconic mid-century modern design was created by the famous designer Don Wallance in 1953. All pieces were made with high quality stainless steel. It is common for knives from this era to show tiny dark spots in the metal, and the markings are often quite light. Each piece is hand-finished and shows very minor variations. There is also some variation in the manufacturer markings on some pieces. If you are trying to match a specific marking, I will do my best to accommodate.
