Description: A stunning antique engraving of the "Groom's Rembrandt" tulip drawn by F.W.Smith and published in London by Thomas Kelly, 1829 (dated along bottom edge). Beside the title are the words "A new fine feathered Bizarre Tulip broke by Mr. Groom of Walworth in 1826. Drawn by F. W. Smith". I believe this was an illustration to 'Flora and Pomona, or, the British fruit and flower garden" by Charles McKintosh - a complete copy is currently available on the internet for $6,250. The engraving has been beautifully matted and expensively framed. It was acquired as one of a pair of images, similarly framed, but the engravings themselves were from different publications and are being offered here separately. I will list the second engraving immediately following should collectors be interested in both. Good condition. Fine original hand coloring. Frame size 14 x 17 inches. A great addition to any botanical collection
