Description: 1880-O "Hangnail" variety micro "o" VAM 48, Morgan dollar. The main characteristic the variety is named for is a large, raised die mark at the eagle's left claw, that runs down across the arrow feathers ,and comes out and shows below the left most tail feather. Other markers for the variety are a curved die mark in the open space left of the leaf above the "Y" in "LIBERTY", a die scratch, left of the top of the left most leaf, faint doubling on "UNITED" and leaf on the left. Very light circulation, and still retaining most of the original, flashy luster.
