Description: Here is a genuine gold Womans Relief Corps Medal dated 1883 on the front with a Maltese cross centered with an emblem of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). The top pin bar reads PRESIDENT and suspended from that is an enamel charm with the entwined letters of FLC. In the center emblem you can see prongs for a diamond to be fitted there. The PRESIDENT bar measures approx. 1 1/2" across and the length, as measured from the top of the point on the bar to the bottom below 1888, is approx. 2 3/4". The reverse side is engraved with the President's name Mrs. C. C. Schreeder of Evansville, Indiana and dated May 31, 1913. It is in very good condition and will look beautiful when polished which I'll leave up to you. *** Just to clarify, I took this badge to 2 separate jewelers who said that this badge is at least 10k pure gold, not plated. ***** Thanks for looking at this auction.
