Description: Up from a local estate is a antique photograph that features the 1897 USS MAINE Baseball Team with an integrated Negro / African American player. The image is in black and white and shows the team and lists all of the names. The photograph is an original gelatin-silver print, produced in the 1890s in the United States. Most of these players died on the USS MAINE in 1898 when the ship was attacked and destroyed which led to the start of the Spanish American War. I took the photo out of the frame to take a better picture of it. You can see silvering and the photo looks like it was once in an old photo album due to the type of high-end silk rice paper it has been mounted to and was cut out of said albumn. The size of the photograph itself is 9 1/4 7 1/4 inches and the frame measures 12 1/210 1/2 inches insize. This collectible item is perfect for sports enthusiasts, collectors of militaria, and fans of baseball. It is a single piece and comes in a vintage style. Add this original photograph to your collectionalbums. Please feel free to ask any questions or make offers. Don't miss your chance to own this great piece of Americana!
