Description: For sale is a gorgeous mid-grade 1899 $1 Black Eagle Silver Certificate. This is the scarce Fr 236m Mule with Speelman-White signatures on the front and a John Burke back plate. This is an exceptionally late serial for a Mule being in the R-A block, the highest I have seen. Frank White took over at the end of the printing of the D-A block. This plate was either literally in service a couple years after Burke left office or was retired and later put back into service. Fascinating and rare note either way. Also almost a repeater serial. Black Eagles are one of the most beautiful and iconic designs in all of US currency. They used to be redeemable for an actual silver dollar! The note grades VF in my opinion, around a 20-25. Still has some crispness, and great color on the design. It does have minor staining on the back from a wallet. Still has great eye appeal and presents well as a VF note. Please check pics and judge condition for yourself. Black Eagles have really been moving lately, going for over $200 in VF. Grab this scarce one while you can! Thanks for looking and have a great day!
