Description: (MS) 1940s Occupied Japan Wooden Paper Mache Round Tray. Stamped Alcohol Proof. The diameter is 10.75 inches across. This tray plate is very old. It has craving in the finish. Cracking on the inside lower lip of the plate. And the edges are pretty chipped up. That being said is a pretty wonderful looking piece. All the issues with this piece are also the character of it! These handmade trays were beautifully crafted and decorated. This one is still very vibrant in spite of its character. The flowers in the center are enhanced with some raised detailing. This piece shows wonderfully, just look at the pictures. (434)
