Description: 1950s The Encyclopedia of Cooking In 24 Volumes Designed as a Set of 24 separately bound paperback cooking booklets that are consolidated in a binder with metal rods holding the separate booklets in place. The books were created by The Culinary Arts Institute and were edited by Ruth Berolzheimer. Most of the booklets contain 250 recipes on a topic such as cakes or soups. Some of the booklets have 300, 500 or more recipes. Book 24 contains a full year of menus and book 23 has 2000 culinary facts. The full list of booklets is printed on the inside covers of each booklet. I love all of the period photos both black and white and the colored ones. This is a great addition to a vintage cookbook collection. This particular Set Has 20 of the 24 Volumes. It is missing volumes:1,2,4 & 5 which covered snacks, leftovers, poultry & game birds and pies & pastries. The binder front cover seam is not strong. Several listings show the cover as missing or attached with duct tape (see photos for examples). I have attached this front cover using scotch magic tape which can be removed without significant damage. You can then decide how you would prefer to attach it more permanently. Please review all photos provided which includes some measurements.
