Description: I bought a box of bridges from Martin in the early 80's.They were from their repair dept.and over the last 40 years I;ve used many of them on my customer's Martins and none have ever failed.I listed the age of this bridge as 1965 but that's just a guess. It would likely have been an early production 35 to find itself back at the factory in the 70's.The tape is martin's record keeping of sorts. The repair # 7131 and the model D-35.It's made from uniformly black fine old Ebony has no cracks, warps or other issues. It's a ful 5/32" tall and has enough thickness in the wings to allow for a proper re-fit.The string spacing is 2-5/32"..There is some residual glue and spruce from the 35 it was removed from. One backlit pic shows the original concavity in the bridge's bottom surface still intact from the orig.factory fitting. This is not warping or a defect. It was carved into the bridge's bottom by the factory to accommodate the slight built in dome of the top and will give you a head start in your re-fit.It is correct for all 35's from 1965 on and probably for 21's & 28's from the same era and perhaps other models that used this spacing. This is my last modern era Ebony Martin bridge. They are a unique opportunity to use a factory bridge made from the same wood and from the same time period as the guitar being restored.
