Description: 1989 World Series S.F. Examiner Newspaper Vending Machine Ad-Giants vs A's21"x 13" on Cardstock This is an ad on cardstock that was placed in a frame above what was called a "newsrack" or above the street vending machines, so this was never offered for sale. There are some condition issues as might be expected, but it looks pretty good! The two competing San Francisco newspapers, the Chronicle and the Examiner, had their own promotional takes on the then upcoming World Series that pitted the local MLB team, the Giants, against the A's from the city of Oakland, on the other side of the bay. The Chron went with "The Battle of the Bay" which you're probably familiar with, while the Examiner went with this dubious "Bays Ball" thing that, like me, you probably don't even remember. Not a great tag line for their campaign but it does make this relic rare and unusual. The text from a previous listing somehow reappeared making this listing confusing. It's a mystery, but I'll still apologize for it anyway. (flatart)
