Description: The first American Edition published by G. Smith of New York. The Works of Thomas Moore Esqr. vol III-IV contain Melodies and Odes of Anacreon in one small yet well-packed book of 600 pages or so. Volume III consists of "Melodies (already well-known then)", "Sacred Songs" and "New Melodies". His notes are published throughout his works. You will also notice a misprint of the volume number that someone (likely the library that owned the book) later corrected with a pencil and added a question mark. This volume was published in 1825. Vol IV Contains the "Odes of Anacreon" in Greek and the English translation and "Little's Poems" which contain poems of Mr. Little that he never intended to go beyond his circle of friends. A letter wherein Moore dedicates these poems to a friend dated 1802 is also published. Once again his notes regarding his choices are also published. This was published in 1823.
