Description: These are two small, but beautifully executed, woodblock prints created by Valerie Swenson. The green four-leaf clover measures 2 inches x 2 inches and is pencil signed with the artist's initials, V.S.The second print, a flower, measures 2 in. x 3 in. and is not signed Both prints came from Swenson's estate and are in the cut mats she applied. Valerie Swenson was an American Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1907.She wrote and illustrated many books about nature and also created many fine paintings and prints - woodblocks and silkscreens. Swenson, while born in Kansas City, MO, she worked in the Hudson Valley and lived in Shandhaken NY. Following her death I was able purchase a large assortment of her artwork.
