Representing the culmination of decades of work by Custom Shop's expert team - a tireless quest to bring accuracy and authenticity to the hands of players - this R8 is an exceedingly faithful recreation of a genuine 1958 Les Paul Standard, with premium appointments including CustomBucker PAFs, hot hide glue construction, and vintage-correct plastics and hardware. This Les Paul is loaded with its factory pair of CustomBucker PAFs, Gibson's latest, highly praised PAF iteration. Featuring Alnico III magnets, these low-medium output pickups have all the chirp, honk, and bloom a player could want. The set in this particular guitar is dynamic, highly detailed, balanced, and comfortably versatile with any playing style. The bridge has plenty of bite and growl, while the neck pickup has the buttery girth and power one expects without sacrificing clarity. Demonstrative of what quality tonewoods are capable of, there are few things finer than the rich warmth of mahogany paired with a carved maple top that adds cut and attack.
