Description: FREE SHIPPING! 50's Vintage Robert Wood Print. Overall size: 8" by 6"; image size: 5.5" by 4". Mint condition. Always archived. The paper shows slight age-toning (tanning) due to the publisher's use of wood pulp based paper and after fifty plus years the paper shows a little age-toning. To my eye it looks better than the original bright white. Titled "Cyprus Bay" and signed in the plate: Robert Wood. He was a contemporary of R. Atkinson Fox and a bit less successful, and he seems to have mostly limited his art to landscapes and seascapes (an opinion I've drawn from all the prints I've gotten of his over the years), except for one famous nude image (titled "Dawn" that was like one Fox did with the same title) when the publisher covered up the nude girl with silver paint in a printing rerun. Anyway, I acquired this small print in a large lot of prints about twenty five years ago. The print was done by Brown and Biglow, St. Paul, Minn., USA; see lower right edge in the photos; also the B&B logo is in the lower right corner in the image among the rocks.
