Description: Agatha Christie, lot of 4 paperbacks incl. Witness for the Prosecution. Murder on the Links - the second title in the Hercule Poirot series, after The Mysterious Affair at Styles. Originally published in 1923. 1970 first printing of a new Dell edition. Funerals are Fatal - a later entry in the Poirot series, published in 1953. In Britain, this novel was titled After the Funeral. (It was fairly common for Christie novels to be titled differently in the US vs the UK; Murder on the Orient Express, perhaps Christie's most famous novel, was originally published in the US as Murder in the Calais Coach.) 1970 10th printing by Pocket Books. Witness for the Prosecution - a collection of Christie's shorts stories, including the titular story, which was famously made into a successful stage play and a 1957 Billy Wilder film starring Tyrone Power and Marlene Dietrich. 1972 Dell first printing of a new edition. The Regatta Mystery - another collection of short stories, this time from 1939. The book includes "In A Glass Darkly," one of Christie's few stories to include supernatural elements. 1969 Dell third printing. All four books are pocket book sized and are published in the late 1960s or early 1970s; all come from the same collection. They are in generally good shape, with some flaws consistent with their age and type. Two of the books have a forward lean from frequent reading. The exteriors show wear, including creasing, edge rubbing, and paint chipping. The interiors have moderately tanned pages and the inscription of the original owner's name. All are complete, intact, and reasonably tight. Excellent reader copies of some of Christie's best works. All books are individually evaluated and photos are of the actual book.
