Description: Alice is a beautiful young Australian girl dressed for school in her dark gray corduroy jacket and corduroy jeans, with contrasting red button front shirt. She carries an awesome red backpack and wears a darling wooden brooch of a girl in old-fashioned clothing (labeled on the back as "Woodcutters Daughter"). I especially adore her deep blue eyes, red hair, and freckled face, which reflect her (possible) Celtic ancestry! Alice is porcelain with armatured cloth body. Her arms hold two poses - one with hands on hips, one with arms in front to hold her backpack (or other item of your choice). She is a standing doll, and does not sit. A gorgeous 33" doll from Australian artists Steve (Sculptor) and Angela (Costume Design) Clark, from the town of Bowral, Australia (between the towns of Mittagong and Burradoo in New South Wales). They are the parents of 3 daughters, who inspired them as their doll models. Includes signed Certificate of Authenticity which states that Alice is #5 out of Limited Edition of 40, and that she is entirely hand made by the artists! Alice doll was a 2001 DOTY (Doll of the Year) nominee in the "Artist Doll - Over $2000" category. A very special work of art for a discerning connoisseur of doll artistry!
