Description: For sale is an Antique 18th C Early lighting Wrought Iron double crusie / Betty lamp with punch mark decorations on the crown. The hanging hook also has many decorative twists in it. Complete and all original as far as I can tell. This item is very stable with secure wrought iron connections. It sits well on a flat surface without wobbles. 7" tall with a 2" wide basin. Crusie and betty lamps have been in use for centuries in burning oils and fats for lighting. The crusie is generally considered the older with it's open top reservoir. The similar later closed top reservoir are called betty lamps, but many people use the term interchangeably. It would be a great item to add to your collection of antique wrought iron/ early lighting devices. This item was acquired from a reputable New England Auction house. Feel free to check out my other antique and collectible listings. I gladly combine shipping whenever practical.
