Antique, very rare 140 year old hardcover book in overall very good condition. Currently no other 19th century or first edition copies for sale on the internet and, according to my research, no other copy of the current edition having come to market before now in well over a decade. Exterior is overall clean with some minor soiling to the covers and also general age, use or shelf wear like moderate rubs to the upper and lower ends of the spine and outer corner edges of the coverboards. Lower edges of the covers have a bump. Cloth looks like it may have been lightly wetted long ago but this is very vague. Gold gilded and embossed text and design to the front cover is well intact. Interior of the book is overall clean with pencil notation on the front endpaper and minor toning and foxing here and there throughout. An occasional outer page margin may have a small tatter. On page xi and xii of the introduction is a printer's error in. Page xi has a blank section of text in which the majority is printed on the lower left hand corner of page xii (the opposite side of the leaf). Upon folding the page xii up as pictured in images 13 through 16 most of the text fits into its proper "page xi" location with some print overlapping and with some of the footnote at the lower margin of page xi not printed due to the printer's error. That being said, the issue does not occur elsewhere in the book and the text is otherwise complete. Book's binding is tight and well intact and the book is complete with all pages present and none coming loose, detached or missing. Book has no odors. Book totals 80 pages followed by a 40 page catalog, some of which pertaining to beekeeping and the rest home maintenance and other topics. Book measures approximately 7 1/2 x 5 1/8 x 3/8 and weighs about 1/2 of a pound.
