Description: Antique Heinrich Handwerck Simon Halbig Bisque Dolly Face Doll. The owner before me kept an impeccable record of her dolls. I'm going to pull information from her records. Obviously not all the information as she kept detailed records. You will ger the folder with the doll. Doll originally from Germany. Hildburghausen Thuringia Germany. Made between 1892 and 1902. Head circumference 10.5 inches at forehead Head material bisque porcelain - has a crack and chipping on the side. Wig is original mohair. Body is wood composition. Doll's height when restrung = 18 inches. She has the original dusty rose taffata dress with matching bobbin lace overlay, pleated satin ribbon waist and baby black rick rack trim. Satin petticoat, bloomers. Her hat is said to be original also. It is tapestry embellished with flowers. SHe also has her stockings. The collector's mother that I got the doll from paid $140 in 1958. The doll was in the same condition then as it is today. Her mother packed it away for years until she passed. Her daughter inherited it and kept it packed away. This could be why the clothing all looks so good. There is a small round wooden piece included that I believe went inside her neck and would be used for restringing.
