Description: This item is a 37 1/4" right-handed hickory shafted iron. It is a rounded back mashie. It is a dash faced and made of Monel Metal which is a rustless mixture of pure metals. Monel Metal was a proprietary mixture of metals sold exclusively by INCO (International Nickel Co.) for use in golf club heads. It was a mixture of 67% Nickel, 28% Copper and 5% other metals (iron, manganese, carbon and silicon). Monel metal heads are rustproof but do develop a nice patina over time. If you don’t like the patina, you can shine them right up. Monel Metal is identified by Monel Metal on the head, INCO and Monel Metal in a triangle on the head or a small O stamped on the head. Marked for the pro W Leith and retailed by McCallisters Windsor Baltimore. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the many zoom pictures to get a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old apparently original hickory. It is straight, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is a newer rubber wrap that is deteriorating and in poor condition. C 5 and 34* loft. Looks like someone might have been playing with this club as whipping has already been added near the hosel.If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box. This item shipped UPS Ground. For those of you that never ship but only receive items, the further you are from me in NC the more shipping will be. That is the way the carriers charge. On top of that, eBay and takes almost 15% of what I receive for shipping (out of $10 I receive $8.50) and I would like to break even. eBay collects sales tax for many states. They charge me 15% for that service and I never see that money.
