Description: See pictures for the most accurate description. Came across this I'd very low rocking chair has saw and ax marks from what looks to be hand human lower back slope of the seat the whole contour from one solid chunk all in all fair condition see pictures solid bones. seat sits- 16" wide and about 17" deep. Backrest is 37" to the top off the floor and the seat height slopes from 15" down to 13". Got this from a guy who got it from his grandma who was from the New England until retirment. Brought them west. He said he thought maybe mid-late 1800s. He may be right I'm not sure but I can tell you this there's a bunch of marks from this being handmade and saw marks and axe marks leaves me to believe this was hand hewn. I don't think people would be doing that if the didn't need to. Unique. Small footprint. Great plant stand, corner filler decoration with a purpose. Put a started knitting of whatever on it. Some yarn on one side in a bracket and needles and what nots in the other. Holidays are upon us. Decorate with style.
