Printed and hand painted details in burgundy / rusty red, blue and green on a butter yellow and white background. No chips or cracks in the glass - just normal, tiny "flea bites" around the edges (see closeups). Some faint, tiny marks here or there - nothing noticed when in use and lit (see closeups). The fitter edge is just over 4" (4 1/16"), and we find that it still fits in most 4" holders.
