Antique Wood Shaft Heavy Flanged Putter D 3 SW J C Langlands

Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 33 3/4" wood shaft putter. It is an early random dot punched face blade. It has a wide flanged sole. Made by Spalding for the pro J C Langlands to retail. The head is in good vintage condition. The head is clean, not all rusted but does have some discoloration. It has the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old apparently original hickory. The shaft is straight, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. Always re-set hickory clubs prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in poor vintage condition. Unusually heavy D 3 swingweight. If you are considering playing with this club all wooden shafted irons should be re-set prior to play. While I see no issues with the shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball. Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box.
