Description: This imposing ( almost 14x14”) decoupage glass tray, made by Ben Busko of Ben's Garden Soho, is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. Inscribed and dated by the artist, it was clearly custom made for one lucky couple. The tray features a gorgeous cartographer’s rendering of the Ionian Republic , which dates it to the early part of the nineteenth century. The map was published by JH Colton and Company, and if you are an aficionado of the form, it is glorious. The old place names. The hand coloring. The type. The map is outlined and then surrounded by a meticulous scroll work border. The back is finished in black felt. This item is pre-owned but in excellent like-new condition and still bears Ben’s label on the bottom. There is one tiny area of finish loss under one corner. As shown.
