Description: A professionally refurbished wooden Conn 444N large bore professional model clarinet. Serial Number B297836. We estimate this instrument is from 1942. It also bears additional numbers and U.S.A. indicating that this instrument was used in the U.S. Army (WWII). All new double-bladder pads and corks, mechanism tight, nickel-plated keys. This is a hard-to-find large-bore professional model instrument particularly well-suited for playing jazz. No cracks. Has had an earlier crack professionally repaired in the center tenon socket and has had brass tenon rings installed for stability. Nickel-plated keys. This instrument has been lovingly restored in our shop. This represents one of the better large-bore American clarinets. Comes with a case, hard rubber mouthpiece, and accessories. Please see the detailed photographs—a bargain at $600 plus $25 shipping in the Continental U.S. Please note:As professional repair technicians, our labor to completely overhaul a clarinet is approximately $250-$300. When you purchase one of our clarinets, it has been professionally overhauled with the mechanism tightened, new double skin pads, and new corks. While you can purchase as-is instruments for less, you will likely have to invest in an overhaul after you have purchased them or shortly thereafter. We don’t cut corners with cheaper supplies or patchwork. When you compare our quality, you will understand why we don’t accept lower “make offers” on our instruments.
