Jr.'s DOCTOR DOOM will enter the MCU in a Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits teaser then soon make his First Full Appearance later that year in the newly retitled Avengers 5, Avengers: Doomsday. We've said elsewhere that, as hinted at by the dozen or so Doctor Doom-dressed folks from which Robert Downey, Jr. emerged to pull away his Doom mask and reveal his identity to the world, RDJ's Doom is but a Variant of Doctor Doom, a misguided Tony Stark who chose a different set of armor. Stark's journey will eventually lead him back to his better self, even as the real Doctor Doom steps forward as the true threat to the MCU Multiverse. This is, of course, speculation on your favorite 'SQUATCH's part, but we're pretty sold on this trip. RDJ will not -- can not -- end his MCU tenure as a villain; it's quite possible that, as he did as Iron Man, he'll do again as Doom/Stark: make the ultimate sacrifice to save not the Universe, but the Multiverse. Whether he does or not, the MCU will have its Doctor Doom for Secret Wars and for many movies thereafter. While comics fandom hunts for Doom/Stark keys, Victor Von Doom / Doctor Doom keys must not be overlooked. Temporarily they may seem less relevant, but take it from this SQUATCH: this moment, too, shall pass. With (apparently) just three (2) years before Secret Wars, the time has come to give your collection exactly what it deserves: a bona fide Doom Key.
