Description: Here’s an Early English China piece from our China vault- a Bloor era Derby - Covered Porcelain Sauce Tureen & Under-plate Ca 1811-46 Base & Underplate both signed with the red double circle Bloor Derby Mk ( 1811-46) A historical era of what was to later become Royal Crown Derby China , when under the leadership Robert Bloor, Patterns of Oriental Influence came into use, and Bone China was invented Overall size: 7.25” H when assembled, Underplate is 8” x 8” x 1” H, Lid is approximately 3”H x 5 7/8” D, Base is 4 1/8”H x 5.25” Diameter on 3.5” D foot- 7” across handle to handle . Weight: 2 lbs 7 oz LID is in remarkably good condition with No chips, cracks, repairs, or gold loss UNDER- PLATE again is free of cracks, chips , gold loss or repairs. It does have several underglaze stains which have traveled from the applied gold lines , plus some spots near the plate well - also underglaze - BASE: The handled base has several old repairs, A: one handle has been broken off and re-attached with metal pins( very old school) through the handles and bowl edge - pins seen inside the bowl and outer lower handle, B: bowl top edge has had a section knocked out and glued back in place - adhesive has yellowed and can be seen inside and out on the joint line, this repair is on the opposite side of the repaired handle.
