DESCRIPTION Elkie Brooks - “Two Days Away” A&M Records SP-4631 (Stereo) from 1977. Hard to find Original First Pressing Pop / Soul / AOR / Blues Rock Album from Elkie Brooks (Vinegar Joe) Produced by the legendary team of Jerry Leiber and Mik Stoller who also contribute about half of the songs. A great backing band featuring Jean Roussel, Isacc Guillory, Steve York and Trevor Morais plus Morris Pert, Pete Gage, Corky Hale, George Devens, Jerry Friedman, Eric Weissberg, Barbara Ingram, Carla Benson, The New York Horns, The Muscle Shoals Horns and more. In the Original Shrinkwrapped Cover with no Barcode, Cutouts or promo markings. Includes the Original Printed A&M Inner Sleeve. CONDITION The Cover is in its Original Shrink Wrap and in great shape. There is some very slight corner softening and an old price tag on the shrink. Beyond that, pretty much perfect. Super solid with no writing, splits, stains, tears, cutouts, etc. and would easily rate Near Mint. The Vinyl is in Pristine Glossy condition looking barely played and possibly even Unplayed. If you really look closely you might be able to spot a couple light scuffs but still very close to New condition and easily Near Mint. The labels are also Near Mint but there is a price tag on the side one label - maybe removable? If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
