This 1961 Stratocaster is from the Master Build Series, the highest-end custom guitar series by master builders in the Custom Shop division, and is made by Greg Fessler, a top builder who has established a brilliant position as the exclusive builder for master Robben Ford in addition to supporting numerous world-class artists. Based on the 60 model, this guitar incorporates attractive specifications that are not limited to year models.The center 2-piece alder body is the "Tabaco Sunburst" color used in the recent Professional series. The neck is 5/4 quarter-sawn maple with a black selected rosewood and a 9.5R specialized for playability.The body finish is "Closet Classic", which expresses an instrument that has been stored in a closet for a long time. Usually, this is described as non-damaged and weather checked, but this model is custom-spec non-weather checked, non-damaged, and has a fine hairline to recreate the atmosphere of an old guitar. The hardware is custom-spec gold, which gives it a luxurious feel. The pickups are hand-wound pickups by Josefina Campos, successor to the legendary pickup maker Abigail Ibarra, and are equipped with F/HW 69 Strat, C/HW Fat 50 Strat RW/RP, and R/HW Texas Special Strat.The pole pieces of each PU are aged to give it a Closet Classic finish. This is a masterful piece created by Fender's highest-ranking master builder. There are scratches, playing marks, and small dents due to use, but it is in player's condition and has been adjusted so that it does not interfere with playability.
