Original: a studio-made still from the time of original release of the film, created for theater display or press release use. Some originals have the movie title and some credits, others have just copyright and permission for press use, still others have no text. Rerelease: an original studio-made still created for a later release of the film. Restrike: A copy made using an original negative. Restrikes were made both by studios, sometimes for rerelease or tv promo use, and also have been made by collectors and dealers who acquired original negatives.Copy Photo: a photo made by photographing an original photo to make a new negative which is then printed. Copy photos often have softer focus than originals and restrikes, and you can sometimes see the border of the original photo on the far edges.
