Description: Beautifully symmetrical and unusually large (about 37 1/2 inches wide, 35 1/2 high), this hand-wrought fireplace screen also has a door that's easily opened for accessing your fireplace. French, it was doubtless fabricated during the 1920s or 30s. It's got a hammered design on virtually every structural element and, as you can see, the floral motif is the rose so revered by the French. In excellent overall condition, with just a couple broken pieces of the mesh. The entire screen will be waxed and polished before it's shipped. The patina is original, and will be a very deep rich brown/black. Measurements: about 37 1/2 inches wide, 35 1/2 high. The feet, from front to back, cover a distance of about 8 inches.
