Description: This cactus is absolutely gorgeous and a hefty size, I'd say close to volleyball size folks! The exact cactus showed ships and was grown in Western Pennsylvania Nursery, packaged carefully in foam to protect the heavy dury 8" ceramic planter, decorative glossed stones and, of course, this fabulous cactus! Heres a but more about this beautiful rare species.... The golden barrel cactus has a globe-like appearance and is recognized by its magnificent color that comes from vertical yellow ribs that line its edges. The spines of the golden barrel cactus will light up any room or setting with its magnificent color, seemingly shining with its bright spines! The blue-green succulent like flesh spirals with each curving rib, lined with those sunny spines. This architectural beauty is a signature cactus of the Southwest Desert. **The golden barrel is considered a rare and endangered species. Please make certain when purchasing from anyone that your cactus was not taken from the Wild! This cactus was raised for sale, but sadly, in the wild, due to overtaking these cacti, their numbers are now diminished! Of course, this cactus does grow slowly, eventually reaching a width of three feet and a finak height of 1 to 2 feet tall. At maturity, yellow blossoms appear at the top of the plant in spring, followed by fruit. Currently, this beautiful cactus is around 8.5 inches to 9 inches from tip to tip. The planter itself is 8 inches wide inside. It is made of ceramic and white. It is also very heavy duty and thick. It does have a drain hole with a plug. The cactus has a wooly fuzzy top that is adorable! Don't forget though it's spines are sharp! Be mindful of small kiddos and curious pets. Looks great in any sunlit room. Watering is twice a month. I Fertilize with a natural fertilizer every two months. Water sparingly and do not soak. This cactus prefers soil to be dry ...ignoring is best! Ships packaged super well! I will package and wrap this very well to prevent accidents. The plant and planter weigh over 5lbs! A solid cactus indeed!!! will be secured in box as well so if it tips it survives still! Blessings to you and yours and Thanks for supporting my small women owned busine
