The symbols on the case are: Dolby Digital, All Region, DVD Video, 4:3 Aspect ratio, DVD-5 [single layer], MPEG-2, and a few more. No rating that we can decipher. Some screen shots from one of the later discs will illustrate the picture quality, which is above average, but certainly not hi-def. It is the story that counts, and this appears to be a famous one, and well-known but older, perhaps somewhat similar to "Dynasty" in America - an extended family saga soap opera.
