And in this case ... the Boys were Stormin' ! our Nation's Capital !! - at RFK !!! ... with Good Ol' Grateful Dead Rock & Roll !!!!! This is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the RFK Stadium Show ! in Washington, D.C. on June 26th, 1993 ( 6/26/93 ) ... on the 1993 Summer Tour !!! This the Rare " G.D. Tour Bus ! " Pass - used only a couple of times by the Grateful Dead ... as the only ' Other One ! ' that I can think of was after this at the Shoreline Amphitheatre - on Summer Tour '94 ! And. .. lucky me indeed, as I actually caught both ! of these East Coast / West Coast Dead Shows !! So Hey Now ! ... " Double Your G.D. Tour Bus !! " - right ? Ha ! I can live with that ... a ' double-portion ' of Tour-Bus ! I like it ... This ' Tour Bus ' definitely looks like it is Cruisin' Fast ! into the Nation's Capital !! - right into RFK !!! A Historic ! Sports & Rock ! Venue where too-many " Grate ! " things G.D. Rock 'n Roll !! have happened over the years to even count ! Goin' way-back to the The Allman Bros. ! & The Dead !! in 1973 !!! I was fortunate enough to catch 6-straight Dead Shows at RFK - which isn't too bad - considering that the Band often just played One-Show there per year ! However ... in '93 it was very-cool & convenient too - because the Band chose to play a 2-Night !! stand at RFK for the Very-1st time since the '89 Summer Tour !!! And even better ... they were heating-up - to the Amazement ! of many long-time Dead Fans in '93 !!?! The May '93 Shoreline & Cal Expo Shows were nothing short of " Legendary ! " ( believe it, or not ! ... believe it !! ) - Expo itself was simply " Legendary !!! ". And this particular 6/26/93 Pass here actually represents the " Tour Closing ! " Show of the 1993 East Coast Summer Tour !! From Giants Stadium > to The Palace ( Michigan ) > to Buckeye Lake ( Buckeye ! ) > to Buffalo ( Bills ! ) > to Freedom Hall in KY > to Soldier Field ( Go Bears ! ) > to Deer Creek !! ... to RFK !!!!! My highlights of this 6/26 Show would have to definitely be the Spoonful !! - in addition to a heavy-duty Stranger ! ... and also with a Picasso Moon ! with nearly as much muscle as the 5/27 kick-down ( into Fire !! ) back at Cal Expo. But what will always stick in my mind on this Memorable ! D.C. Dead-Day ! ... is the Iko Iko Set II Opener !! It was a very nice-day too - with no rain ! like some ( many ! ) D.C. Dead Show Years - and RFK was definitely Rockin' !!! A Hot ! Playin' > Terrapin !! indeed ... and of course ( naturally ... ) the Throwin' Stones ! > Saturday Night !! too. But ... the " Iko ! Iko ! " is what still sticks very-vividly in my mind here today - now 25-Years later !! I saw every RFK Show every year ( post Dylan & The Dead ) through this '93 run ! - and I'm pretty sure this was the only-time they ever played Iko ! Outdoors in Good Ol' D.C. ?!? Very, Very-Cool ...
