Description: Vintage 22.8 Gold Plated Commemorative Plate of Habsburg Emperor Franz Josef and his famous beautiful wife, Elizabeth, or “Sisi” as she was affectionately known by the Hungarians who adored her. It is said that she was responsible for brokering better conditions for the Hungarians within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Supposedly she had a Hungarian lover, and this caused her to fall in love with the people and culture. This plate, measuring about 3”, was purchased in Vienna, Austria in 1990. It is in excellent condition and is a collectors item.
