Description: This is a Russian Icon painted on a curved wood plank, I am told it's a section of a wine cask. The painting depicts an angel, or archangel, in soldiers garb holding a scroll and a sword. I can't read the Russian script to identify the figure (Michael?). The piece is signed in the lower left but, again, I can't read it. Maybe you can. I don't think it's old, rather modern. Very beautiful. Please see photos. Measures 12" tall by 4" wide by 1" deep.
