Hendrik Rolandt was born in 1906 in a small village in the neighborhood of Amsterdam but was the son of German parents. He studied in Amsterdam. His best known paintings are Dutch and Flemish landscape's in the style of Van Naer and Ostade and others. The artist paints outstanding landscapes and little seascapes in the old Master Technique which take must patience, work, and cunning to accomplish and which have achieved for him an outstanding name.
