The ceramic ornament has a colorful rendition of a Tulips quilt on the front side. There are two holes in the top end through which has been threaded a ribbon for hanging the ornament. The back is plain, except for the words: Tulips - Copyright Hill Design 1989. The ornament comes in its original box with a small insert that reads: Celebration! of American Quilts - Tulips - "This design is an adaptation of an early 20th century quilt from Indiana. Tulips were a popular motif because of their simple grace and because many believed they symbolized the Trinity." The ornament measures 3 3/4 inches tall by 3 3/8 inches across, and weighs 5 ounces in its box. The quilt ornament is in excellent, like-new condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
