Description: Ice Harvesting in Early America by Dewey D Hill and Elliott R Hughes. Published by and for the New Hartford Historical Society, February 1977. A collection of images and stories about early ice harvesting, with a focus on upstate New York. Includes (from the table of contents) When the Ice Harvests Started, Harvesting Ice, The Ice House, Delivery of Ice, and Natural Ice of Manufactured Ice. Condition is fair. Bumping and notches on cover. Comb doesn't appear cracked. Pages are yellowed but otherwise fine; no apparent writing in text. Inscription by author Elliott Hughes between contents and first page of text. Some sort of water damage that has stained but doesn't appear to have warped the bottom left corner. Doesn't seem to overlap any text or images but creates subtle but noticeable discoloration on pages in first half of book. See images. Your purchase helps support our small public library. M AR
