INTIMATE CARD AND CIGARETTE TRICKS -- various contributors, edited and published by ABBOTTSFIRST EDITION, 1935 26 pagesI guess they had a few extra Cigarette tricks in the file, because this book is mostly Card magic -- 21 of the 26 pages are dedicated to card effects. An interesting glimpse into approaches to card magic in the 1930's. Contributions by many of the key folks in the Abbott's orbit: Percy Abbott, Recil Bordner, Paul Stadleman, etc.Like most older magic books, the text is fairly "dense" so you have to really concentrate when you read this. But there are a few neat card gems hidden in this vintage booklet. And if you are interested in a few cigarette manipulation moves, the last five pages are a nice bonus :-)The book is in great shape for being nearly 90 years old -- pages are very clean and unmarked, no rips or tears. This first edition included gilt printing on the cover, highlighting the title in gold (color). This was dropped from later editions. The green cover has some fading around the edges. particularly on the top edge (front and back -- see photos). But cover is otherwise clean and unmarked. Pages have typical "browning" of age. Staple and taped binding is tight and solid.See the photo of sample page shot(s) to give you an idea of illustration and format style.My recent online search only found one listing for this book, somewhere in Japan with a price of 14,000 yen. (I had to look up the conversion on that to see it was about $89). This is a great collectible, for those who love vintage magic texts, or vintage Abbotts items. But $89 is a lot! So I will sell it for much, much less!PLEASE READ CONDITION NOTES BELOWCONDITION NOTES: previously owned, but in very good shape -- the book is very clean and unmarked. All pages are intact and tightly bound by the original staple and tape binding. The cover shows some fading from green to tan around the edges and particularly at top (see photos of front and back cover). +++++++++++
