The angel knows his truth, his end, lies beyond the attractive and polished architecture of the castle and he will not rest until he finds it. The exquisite castle in the background was taken from a page in the Très Riches Heures due Duc de Berry, a richly decorated book of hours from the fifteenth century. The book contained all the hourly prayers, as well as some of the most important and beautiful paintings and illuminations of that century. This hard-to-find 12"x9" SmallWorks canvas is sold out at the publisher and in mint condition. Note that this canvas is "gallery wrapped" (finished edge) and can be hung as is without any additional framing expense. This option was offered by Greenwich Workshop for a short period of time for an extra charge.
