One of the original founders of The New York Yacht Club, Jay amassed the most complete and valuable collection of shells in the United States. From 1836-1843, Jay also served as Treasurer of the New York Academy of Sciences (the named the Lyceum of Natural History.) 5.25 X 7.875. Very good condition.
