Description: This is a "BELL SYSTEM" KS-8455 ohmmeter used in telephone repair work. The name was shortened to "KS-METER" by those that used it . In a sturdy leather case with a leather "Carry" strapto go with you up & down all the poles in the city! This is the first one I've found with a working Battery (45Volt). You can see in the 4th & 5th photos when the test cord is shorted the needle goes all the way over to the end of the scale showing good battery then when short is removed the needle comes all the way back to zero. Great meter for the Repairman in the 1950's & the 1960's. Was also used to determine if there was a phone on the end of the wire by reading the condenser "kick" of each telephone. *************************************************************
