I may have washed it in cold water with tide free inside a laundry bag and then let it hang to dry. It is made of a very beautiful polyester brocade fabric. I love it but I just am not able wear it, unfortunately. Please check the measurements to make sure it is the size you want. It measures:18” inches across under the arms but will accommodate a larger bust size with the gathers.It is 15 inches across at the Empire waste line.It is 43.5 inches long in the front and 47 inches long in the back.
