Description: Incredibly Beautiful and Elegant, 4 1/2" Wide, Vintage (1940's-50's), 2 1/2" Deep (at the Closed corners), Ornately Hand Carved and Pierced throughout, All Wood, No Compo Baroque Scoop Picture Frame in 20 X 31 1/2, frame size. If the liner is removed, the opening is 22 X 33 1/4. The carvings and piercings are asymmetrical, a sign of hand artisanship, with delightful scallops on the corners and floral carvings throughout. It has a Rich and Delightful, Antiqued Gold finish. It also has a flat wood liner with an angled gold lip on the inside. It is from the world famous Hammer Galleries of NY - labeled on reverse. This frame previously held an Original Maximilien Luce (1858-1941) painting, valued at $50,000 - $100,000, so it was for a museum or high end private collection.
