Description: Old 1928 Roper Gas Range Six Burner. Condition is Used. Local pickup only. This is an amazing vintage stove. It was salvaged out of a beautiful home in Pacific Palisades. The stove was functioning in the home at the time of removal. Considering it’s age it is in overall good condition. After looking it over we see that there is a tag on the back and I’m not sure if this is where the stove was originally purchased for where it was restored. It was amazing pieces such as this that truly do capture time. This particular range was featured on the cover of the old Roper catalogs. They are really hard to find nowadays especially the six burner range. There are a few of the four burner that surface once in a while. My favorite part about the stove is when you open the oven area you can see the cooking guide printed on the inside . From what I can tell all of the handles appear to be original there is some slight damage to the bread box that rolls up and down. It looks as though it may be softly dented but nothing major. I also noticed underneath the little knob there was a little bit of damage to the enamel that looks as though it had been repaired. The bottom right drawer appears to be a darker shade of blue gray and there are a few touch up spots on the enamel throughout the stove here in there all of which seems to be consistent with its age. There is a Patton seal on it dated March 16, 1926 .I couldn’t imagine all It has seen throughout its years. I tried to capture most of the detail in the photos . I didn’t notice that some of the burners can be lifted up and removed and put back into place but I do know that the stove was functioning at the time of removal I do not know any of the technical parts about the stove but it seems like the burners simply sit in and rest into position but it would need to be looked at by a stove person upon installation .
