This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating well over 100 years old. Bottle embossed: "POISON / The Owl Drug Co.", with an embossed picture of an off-centered one-wing owl perched on a druggists' mortar, stirring a pestle. The mortar is embossed, "TODCO". TODCo = The Owl Drug Co.Condition: Bottle is in PRISTINE SPARKLING CLEAN condition, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see pictures to get overall idea of appearance and condition. These old BIM cork top cobalt blue triangular shaped Owl Drug bottles come in 10 different sizes, from the tiny 2 3/4" tall half ounce (1/2 oz.) size to the large 9" tall full quart (32 oz.) size. This one is a 1 oz. bottle, the 2nd smallest of the BIM poison bottles. This bottle is listed as # KT-1 in the Poison Bottle Workshop book, the book on antique poison bottles. Antique poison bottles are quite collectible as they were most always made in odd shapes or forms, unusual colors, and had fancy or extraordinary embossing patterns on them. Though originally these were all things to let a user know, by sight and feel, that the bottle's contents were something not to be consumed, today these are all the things that make poison bottles such a desirable category of bottle collecting. This one is just a great example of all these things. It was hand blown in a COBALT BLUE color, comes in an unusual TRIANGULAR shape, and has the word POISON spelled out in LARGE letters.
