Description: "A New and Correct Map of Germany," drawn by Thomas Bowen and published in 1788. The coverage area extends from the Baltic Sea to Venice, between France and Russia, including Poland, Austria, Switzerland, southern Denmark, Bohemia, Moravia, Prussia, Saxony, Bavaria, and the United Provinces. Other named places and features include Warsaw, Geneva, Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Cologne, Frankfurt, Swabia, the Danube River, Prague, Breslau, Augsburg, Dresden, Magdeburg, Leipzig, Marienburg, Innsbruck, the Rhine River, and Bonn. The image area measures 19.5 x 28 cm [7¾" x 11"], and longitude is measured from London. A table shows the distances from town to town, in English and German miles. The map was drawn by Thomas Bowen and published in A New and Authentic System of Universal Geography, Antient and Modern Geography, by Thomas Bankes, London, 1788. (See below for the full title.) Condition: This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with generous margins and no marks, rips, or tears.
