Description: Offered for your consideration is another 19th Century hand-colored mourning, or memorial lithograph by Kellogg & Comstock, a competitor of Currier & Ives. I have two other memorials currently listed, each with different artwork and framed. One is in memory of a Civil War soldier from the Union Army & comes with a hand-written letter that the soldier penned, that has been kept with the framed memorial all these years since the war. These are from my personal collection & I have owned them for many years. This particular 1840's art print features two young children on one side of a gravestone in a bucolic cemetery landscape, while the other side of the tomb features an older child mourning, or perhaps a young woman. There is a body of water in the background, perhaps a lake, as there is a sailboat to be seen. This particular tomb is inscribed for the loved one who has died, and includes some poignant text cut out from a paper or book and glued onto the memorial. The scene is very moving and the lithograph has been framed in a black narrow frame. It is in very good condition, with some age mottling which can be expected in a print of this age. The item was professionally framed in the past and the information on the deceased is transcribed on the backing paper of the frame. Please message me if you have any questions at all; I'm always very happy to help! Also, please consider the photos as part of the description. Thank you for taking the time to view my listing and I hope you will consider adding me to your favorite sellers list.
