NATIVE AMERICAN BUT NOT FOUND TRADITIONALLY IN NATIVE CULTURE. Age : 150-200 years. One original drum head wood peg lacking with another next to it missing its outer head along with handling and use from its 150+ years.. Aprroximate Dimensions: W 10 1/2" x L 11 1/4" x H 2 3/4" Wood pegs holding the skin drum head. (one missing) Construction similar to the plains Indian (Dakota) hand drums using the same wood pegs to hold the drum head. Notches around lower rim. Metal cymbals are the type used on plains Indian (Chippewa) tambourine/hand drums. Held together without nails, using tree bark. Frame shows crude stone tool marks. Frame is somewhat oval.
